Rhymefest Subway attack controversy:

On his blog on www.hiphopgame.com Chicago rapper Rhymefest posted a video of an African man getting beat up by five teenagers in a New York Subway. Rhymefest and other passangers stood there and watched the attack doing nothing to help the man or stop the teens. Rhymefest even went ahead and pulled out his camera to record the attack.

When Rhymefest posted the video on his blog he got mixed reaction, some fans were trying to play "Hero" and defend his inaction while others called him a "pussy" and a "coward" for doing nothing.

Off the bat I'm not feeling it, but I never got into the hype over Carter III either so who am I to say...Rock on Wayne!!!

E-Meezy: I feel that hip-hop artists starting to converge and open themselves to new arenas. This is the type of creativity the game needs even though wayne is not the first rapper go the rock route, it is quite refreshing to see him go there. He, in a sense is a rock star.

B: Me and ma patna were just having a convo about female MC's in the game. Where are they at? 09' is supposed to mark a new era for Hip Hop, the new school era...or as some like to call it the Hipster Rap era where everybody is a backpacker. But where do female MC's fall into the equation? Remy-Ma is locked up (last I heard) Foxy Brown is far from getting a studio album together, L Boogie is being L Boogie and Lil Kim is on Dancing with the Stars....lol*smh* I dunno where Babs from the band went and Lil Mama is MIA... so where is the female presence in Hip Hop today?
Amanda Diva is about the only true female MC I can think of off the top of my head, and I've not been on her like that just recently started getting acquainted with her. So what's the deal? Anybody?

Anyways let get to the proceedings of the blog.Female MC's ...wow they are nonexistent, you could name rappers like Remy Ma (locked up), Eve( she went Hollywood), Trina ( she's not nice), Foxy and Kim havent been the same since the early part of this decade. Sometime I get the opportunity and hear the sounds of vintage female rappers like MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, and Roxanne Shante and I listen to them I am like damn this is hip hop at its finest, femsles actually could rap and didn't need to use sex to sell. Nowadays, female rappers are just sad to say.. hos. Most of the females rapping now trying to follow the same mold that Foxy and Kim created back in the 1990s . In all honesty, it is not popping , how do u expect to be taken seriously with such a image and wack flow.

Don't get me wrong, there are some women in the game right now that are still holding it down like Amanda Diva who respect the art form and truly trying to be the voice of consciousness in the game. I feel that the record companies feel that putting females in a male dominated field resort in one thing- low or no album sales.

808 s & Heartbreak- My review

When I first heard "Love Lockdown" two months ago I thought Kanye had lost his mind. It didn't sound Hip Hop, it was too techo based for R&B and Pop seemed like an insult for the rapper that once had me mesmorized with his beats and witty rhymes. Though everybody around me loved it instantly I knew the song and sounds Kanye was after would have to grow on me, Both eventually did. Before that happened I had to listen to the album differently from how I initially listened to "Love Lockdown", I expected sick lyrics and Pete Rock like beats from Kanye as a Hip Hop head, so this time I had to just put myself in the shoes of the average MUSIC listener, Kanye once said in an interview while promoting the album: "I don't know why people are shocked I am not rapping on this album, I am not a rapper...I am Kanye West. I don't have a rappers name, I just use my name Kanye West-that makes me an artist..." And that's how I approached the album, listening to an artists work, letting the genre be decided after the album ended.

1 Say You Will : The beat to this track reminds me of a heartbeat, you know when you see people in hospitals hooked up to the iv with their heart rate being monitored, that’s what I pictured first time I heard this track. Kanye sings throughout the song and though he might be off key a couple times the lyrics are good. The last two minutes are an instrumental... I think it’s almost meant to prep you for what you are about to experience setting a dark mood and letting the listener know what their in for.

2. Welcome To Heartbreak (Feat. Kid Cudi): One of my favorites in the album. I was touched by it and Kid Cudi does well on the hook, I was suprised that there was no mention of his mothers death in this track, dont know if it was subliminal and I missed it but as far as I could tell he talked about how he has no family, how he had to skip a relatives wedding and has only materialistic things in his life to compensate for his pain. Lemme know if ya'll caught more than that!

3. Heartless: Strong song, there is a reason why Ye' used this as his second single, catchy and sad, but not to the point where you can't relate. One of the best in the album.

4. Amazing (Feat. Young Jeezy): I'm not a big fan of Jeezy or any other rapper with Young in front of their name that came out after 1997 so I had low expectations of this track. Kanye singing is ok to me, the lyrics are the strong point as always, the piano arrangement is really good surprisingly Young Jeezy did good too. You can hear some kinda animal sounds in the background that are a lil random but other than that this is another good track.

5. Love Lockdown: Like I said in the intro I hated this song when I first heard it but with time it grew on me. Well sung and catchy the beat sick especially the drums.

6. Paranoid ( Feat. Mr. Hudson): This song is good got a 80's vibe to it, but doesn't belong in the album. All the songs have a dark gloomy vibe to them but this one is more happy and party like, something outa Graduation maybe...I guess Kanye had this song left over.

7.RoboCop: I get the intentions in this track and I like the beat, whoever is doing the background vocals did a good job but other than that this song is not that great compared to what you hear up to this point.

8. Street Lights: I like this track but can't quite say why I do. Kanye sings really well on this one and doesn't sound like he's using auto-tune as much. The beat is mellow and the drums in the background are the nice. Another good one.

9. Bad News: This track I dunno about, when I saw the title I thought for sure this would be an ode to his mother but It's not. I like the beat alot,the lyrics are smart with a story from a woman's perspective, but I dunno im still up in the air. I skip it at times, other times I listen to it and enjoy it.

10. See You In My Nightmares (Feat. Lil Wayne) : Hurts to say it but it's the best song int he album by far, I really doubted Lil Wayne being featured in this album I never imagined to find depth in his lyrics but this time I was wrong. Deep lyrics flow goes well with the song and Kanye sings well on it and shows alot of passion, the beat is dark as fuck.... My Favorite by far!

11. Coldest Winter: Saddest song in the album, a dedication to his mom, hard to listen to if you have lost a loved one. The lyrica are good the beat sets the mood...another good song!

12.Pinocchio Story (Bonus Track): This is a live performance. You have bitches in the background screaming like their taking some vitamin D, so I suggest you don’t bump it in the car cause you gonna owe your eardrums an apology if you do. It took me a few listens to really grasp what he’s talking about, but once It landed I begin to enjoy this track. Kanye is a deep dude and this track is another heartbreaking song.

FINAL OPINION: 808’s is a great album to me, it’s not a Hip Hop album it’s just a great album. Any album that can put you in the mood the artist was in when recording it is successful, because that’s what art is all about, transmitting emotions through your work. I feel the pain Kanye feels when listening to the album the Heartbreak experience is there and the fact that there are only 12 tracks (If you count Pinocchio story) is not a negative, because all the tracks that made the album are great, there are no fillers. So if you are a fan of music open to experience something different this album is a must buy. Even Hip Hop fans that would rather hear Kanye spit on the album should buy this cause there is lots to learn from this album if the singing doesn’t do it for you, then at least you should enjoy the melodies. The simple yet grim production on this album is genius and anybody should enjoy it not. Ye' might have gone over people’s heads with it but that’s what good music is supposed to do sometimes make you think a little.

The Death Of Adam by 88 Keys- My Review

I promised on my other blog I would give a track breakdown of this album so here it is. I know 808's & Heartbreak dropped yesterday but I want to keep the focus on Kanye's lesser known homey...It's all about 88 Keys right now!

MAIN CONCEPT: So the main concpet of this album revolves around a guy named Adam who representes the typical hetersosexual male, lazy, hopeless and with sex on his mind 24/7. In the album we go through his life and eventual death all focused on chasing the "na na". Each track has a narration at the end keeping us up to date with what's going down.

1. Morning Wood: This track cracked me up from the start, you can guess by the title what it's about but the lyrics are just classic! "We start off on the right foot if she takes care of the morning wood" ain't that what life is all about?? lol...wouldn't we all be way more chill if we had a chick taking care of the morning wood? 88 sings throughout the song, he's good! one fault I can find in this track is it has no real meaning to the story besides desplaying 88's singing skills and giving us an idea of how sex fixated this dude Adam is but I won't knock it...also great production.

2. Nice Guys Finish Last: I like the sample on this one, sounds like a Kanye/J Dilla production. 88 got a nice wordplay though he reminds me alot about Kanye on Dropout...ok, I said it would be all about 88. Good track! the narration at the end is the story of my life before i got caked up. HAHAHA

3. The Friends Zone Feat Shitake Monkey: Cool track sounds like something out of a OutKast album...got me into Shitake Monkey though. Kinda alternative rock meets C-lo type track.

4. Handcuff'Em: Now this is another song that has Mr. West like production AND flow...*shakes head* not memorable though, only the beat stands out.I heard Joe Budden was supposed to jump on this but because of schedule differences he never did. I can only immagine how fire this would have been with Joe Budden on it!! funny ass narration!

5. Stay Up (Viagra) Feat Kanye West: This is prolly the best track. Catchy and with witty punchlines. Kanye is not at his best on this one, but the Borat impersonation at the end of Verse 1 had me cracking up. IT'SSS NIIIIIIIIICE!

6. There's Pleasure In It II: This is more of an interlude than a track to me. You can hear moaning on the background prolly meant to enphazise Adam and some chick doing the do'...SKIP!

7. (Aww Man) Round 2?: This track embodies all the wrongs of one night stands. Adam picks up a nympho and lacks the stamina to satisfy!! HAHAHA sounds familiar? far from my block...love the production of this track, sample can get annoying after a while but it's still a cool track.

8. Dirty Peaches feat J*Davey: A Filler in my opinion, longest track in the album. It's an R&B track. decent, but R&B is not my cup of tea so I dont have much to say on this one.

9. Close Call Feat Phonte from Little Brother: This track brings the album back to the dopeness it should have stuck to. beat goes hard, Phonte is Phonte on this track son'en the beat. some comedy in there too. My personal favorite in the album!

10. The Burning Bush feat Redman: My second favorite track on the album, got some Marvin Gaye-ish type sample in going on, Redman is classic on this one witty and comedic as always!

11. Hoe is for Honey Feat Kid Cudi: Aahh..Kid Cudi is the future, look out for dude in 09! his verse shines on this track, great production. This joint is catchy and will have you singing to it! The album ends at this point if you ask me but the next 3 tracks put closure on the story.

12. No. I said I liked you!: This is just homegirl trippin on Adam, another interlude type track...almost an instrumental have fun spazzin on it! hahaha

13. M.I.L.F. Feat Bilal: this is R&B once again Bilal sings on it and does what he does best. Once again not bad, but im not into R&B!

14. Another Victim: I want to know what he samples on this track! I like the production, as far as 88's rap on it im not sure honestly, short as hell and makes no sense as far as the story. not even a full bar.

FINAL OPINION: Cool album if you ask me. Type of album you can play while having a kickback with friends, kinda laugh at the narration and sing along to the catchy hooks. But if you're a HIP HOP head looking for some witty rhymes you should pass on this one, this is more for the soulful older cats with low expectations and a sense of humor.

808's is next, then Dedication 3 and Theater of the Mind...HOOOOLLLLLLLLLAAA!!

It's definitely Wayne's World! The rapper snagged a whopping 12 BET Hip-Hop Award nominations, confirming that 2008 belonged to Weezy. Lil Wayne received a nod for Best Video ("Lollipop") and was recognized in the Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year categories, among other nods. After scoring the best-selling album of the year with his 'Tha Carter III' album and appearing/performing on almost every award show in 2008, it 's no surprise the rapper is being recognized in such a big way by the network.

E-Meezy: This is just crazy to me how everybody says Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive. What has this dude done lyrically to be considered hip hop's elite. It sickening me that he even liken himself to Jay-Z, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G. Come on now, Wayne. You have never being original, you stole your style from DipSet, your flow from Jay and half of the time you sound like u throw words together think it sound sick. I was cool with him in the beginning , he was alright. I feel like he trying to be something he really is not. He sounds intoxticated on something every time you hear him talk.

B:Props to the boy Weezy for doing his thing, At a day and age where music sales are at all time low and Hip Hop fans are the leading group of fans downloading rather than copping CDs selling as much as the boy did is nearly IMPOSSIBLE. Jay-Z has reportedly launched a new label, adding to his long list of businesses. This one is called StarRoc and was formed with producers Stargate. According to overseas media, Stargate is a Norwegian duo consisting of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen, both of which have produced for several superstar artists, specifically crafting Beyonce’s hit “Irreplaceable” and Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” Reports indicate that the producer duo have relocated their studio to Jay-Z’s Manhattan-based Roc The Mic studios.

B: I've always respected Jay for being a brotha with a nose for business and he gets extra props for hooking up with these catz. I heard about these two doing some research on some of my favorite tracks and I was surprised to find out they penned them, produced them or had major input in the creative process. Tracks like:"Nas Hip Hop Is Dead" (production), Beyonce "Irreplaceable"(production/writers [NeYo co-writer]), Elliot Yamin "Wait For You" (writers/producers) NeYo "So Sick" (c0-writers) and countless other jumpoffs; and they have worked with every artist on top of their game as of late. These two get down, no doubt about it! I heard controversy over the name, some people said it should be called "RocStar" rather, but that whole Rockstar thing is dead and buried to me....StarRoc Is more original. You did ya thing Jigga!

E-Meezy: He said it best on the A milli remix: Billionaire Boys Club, it is more than gear, I dont wear it because of Pharrell, I wear because I am for real. This is another good look for the JiggaMan. This is a part of that 10 year, $150 million Live Nation deal he signed earlier in this year. This truly shows that Jay is thinking about life after hip hop, and trying to capitalize on every opportunity to become a billionaire. That is besides the point, Stargate has been responsible a lot of the hit songs in the past couple of years, it was a smart move to give them a label maybe they got some heat for BP3.

The Alaska governor came out swinging at the Republican National Convention, energizing her party's base and shifting the momentum to John McCain's favor. Palin's favorable rating is at 40 percent, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll. That's down 4 points from last week. Her unfavorable rating is at 30 percent, rising eight points in a week.

B: LMAO, Im not surprised. After making an ass out of herself in the interview with Charles Gibson I saw this coming. I bet alot of people got turned off by her, She might be relatable and to some (not me) hot, but the girl is as dumb as a rock. "I can see Russia from Alaska" wtf? what kinda shit answer is that? She was supposed to pick up votes of angry Hillary supporters but even they have better sense that to fall for that. E-Meezy: When I heard the news about John Mccain picking a female running mate, I thought you this is a desperate move to get all the Hillary supporters. Even then I knew that not to take her seriously because she is merely a puppet being used to advocate equal rights and to take some of the steam from Barack Obama being the first African American candidate. As more information on Pallin has being surfaced, you see that her views are a little extreme such as advocating no abortion and abstinence enough though her daughter is pregnant. When she speaks, she seem like she trying to make herself a viable candidate for the VP position. She tried to magnify her experience based on being governor of Alaska, in all honesty who cares. As noted in B's reply she made a fool of herself by not knowing the Bush Doctrine is by lying to say that she does. I think that as we get closer to the election, America will realize that the Mccain/Pallin ticket is disillusioned by what is really going in the economy and focus on stupid comments such as a pig in lipstick.
